Entry for this months Gnomon competition - 'Mythos' theme.

From wikipedia:
"(English translation: "old women", "gray ones", or "gray witches",one eye and one tooth.alternatively spelled Graiai, Graiae, Graii), were three sisters, one of several trinities of archaic goddesses in Greek mythology...

They had but one eye and one tooth among them. These were shared and the sisters took turns in using them

The Graeae took the form of three grey-haired old women, though poets might give them the euphemistic designation "beautiful." Their age was so great that a childhood for them was hardly conceivable. Hesiod reports their names as Deino ("dread", the dreadful anticipation of horror), Enyo ("horror" the "waster of cities" who had an identity separate from this sisterhood) and Pemphredo ("alarm")"

I also read elsewhere while researching that they represent the white foam of the ocean... which is where I got this idea

“When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion, it is called Religion.” ~ Robert M. Pirsig
I've been waiting for another one of your miracles. Not only is it always an astounding work of art, but has a backstory that makes it extremely clever, as well.
Having them leave the water, representing foam is a grand idea, and the yellow sky reflecting off of the water is a very good mood setter. Beautiful, yet slightly crippled looking. This piece is very groovy.
